Eye 2 Eye was the Finalist in the "OPTICIAN EYE CARE AWARDS 2001" which Is the annual awards Contest for the Optical Industry in the UK.

The EYECARE AWARDS OF THE YEAR are given out to Practices and Practioner's who have excelled in certain categories or areas of expertise during the past 12 months, and are very prestigious awards. To enter for the awards you must have a proven record of excellence or some other evidence that your practice has contributed some new innovation, or an achieved outstanding service to the community or Profession. A panel of experts are appointed by the sponsors of the particular category of award from various fields to judge the different sections, and they are then charged with sifting through all of the information, visiting practices and checking the credentials of the submissions of the various awards.

The Website of the Year Award is sponsored by "Rodenstock UK", one of the Worlds Largest, and best known Lens Manufacturer. This particular award is an extremely well fought for award, and is a difficult area to judge, as this is a relatively new area of technology. The panel of judges for the Web site awards was ultimately chosen from outside of the industry. The judges them-selves were selected by the sponsors from outside of the industry, as it was felt that the web site should cater for the needs of the community rather than the profession itself. There were many things that the judges had to Asses, ease of finding the site, availability of the site throughout the entire Internet, ease of navigation, appearance, quality of content, and the availability of information available to the public.
